Mundargi:
An Academic Convocation Ceremony marking the completion of an important educational stage for students, along with the celebration of Yellow Day, was held recently at SFS High School in Mundargi with great enthusiasm and discipline.
The chief guest for the occasion, Dwarakesh Reddy, a drawing teacher from the Hadagali Tungabhadra Education Institution and a State Award recipient, addressed the gathering and said,
“Schools are sacred places where children’s dreams are sown. There is no space here for dirt, indiscipline, or waste. Nurturing children’s dreams is a shared responsibility of parents and teachers.”
He emphasized that parents must teach children not only academics but also culture and values.
“Today, many parents burden their children with unnecessary pressure, robbing them of their childhood. Children should grow up in an environment that nurtures family bonding and human values. Parents must raise their children in such a way that they never have to ask for the address of an old-age home in the future,” he appealed.
Warning against the habit of comparing children with others, he said,
“Every child is like a unique, living flower with different talents. Parents and teachers should ensure that this flower does not lose its smile, but instead receives the right care to bloom. Children must be taught to love learning. The words of parents can either elevate a child’s future or diminish it.”
On this occasion, meritorious students who excelled in various fields were felicitated with awards and certificates. The event was further enriched by entertaining and cultural performances presented by the students.
As part of the Yellow Day celebration, children dressed in yellow attire and created a joyful atmosphere through songs and dances.
The programme was attended by the school Principal Father Nirmal Jose, administrators Father Prashanth, Discipline Head Father Simil, coordinator Ashwini Badi, along with all teachers, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of the institution.
A large number of parents were also present and enthusiastically enjoyed their children’s cultural performances and dances. The event concluded successfully, leaving behind a strong message highlighting the importance of educational values, culture, and family bonds.
